Some of you may know my family moved to Minnesota when I was ten, and we lived there for a few years while my dad was in school before we came back home to the green and glorious Pacific Northwest. Coming from temperate Seattle, we were a little less than prepared for the harsh winters in the frigid north, and since we had just spent a zillion dollars moving across the country, we picked up most of our snow gear at local secondhand shops. Shopping for cold-weather at the Minnetonka NTY Clothing Exchange fourteen years later was a little like a blast from the past, and I wound up with this adorable off-white, faux-fur parka. I kept the big pieces of the look neutral with an ivory sweater underneath and light grey skinnies, keeping it grounded with a dark bag and shoes. Who knew you could keep warm and stay cool all at once?
